September/October

September always brings a new start to lots of things and this year that included getting 5 new fish! Deacon saved up his money to buy a big fish tank and all the things in it. We each named our own fish, so we have Roxy, Lulu, Lime, Blueberry and Peanut. It stayed nice and warm for a good while so we enjoyed going to parks, and Jeff's work BBQ is always a big hit with face painting, bouncy castles, and delicious burgers.
Deacon has continued on with Karate and now has his blue belt. It was a tough one to get, so it may take a while to advance after that, but he still goes twice a week and does really well. Basketball has also started up again and he just loves it! He is in Tykes with Bow River, as well as an 8 week program at the Prolific Sports House where they just play games. He has his cousin, Bryce, on that team and has lots of fun playing with him. He gets a lot more ball time in Tykes, though. Leo is also in basketball this year, and it's not really his thing, but he's trying hard and having fun. He also took swimming lessons this Fall and really loved that. Bentley is in basketball as well and it took a while for her to get to know her teammates, but now that they are friends she has a really good time. Games were a new and scary thing for her, but she's being brave and doing well. She also has 3 classes of dance back to back on Mondays (Acro, Ballet, and Jazz). Bentley and Deacon take piano lessons as well, and that sums up their activities!
Aside from those activities, Bentley and Deacon also decided to join cross country running. I always find it so fun to watch the races! Deacon is so competitive and has fun, but also gets frustrated when he doesn't come in the Top 5. Bentley decided she was never ever ever going to do cross country again. Like ever. Haha, but she was a good sport and I think still had a good time with her friends. She was definitely there for the social aspect of it!
Jack and Tara had their 2nd birthday party out at Bailey's parents acreage. We all went to that and the kids had such a blast running around and picking fruit and vegetables from the garden. Shortly after that, Brent and Bailey welcomed another little boy into the family. Milo was born and we got to visit him while he was still so tiny! The kids loved seeing him and playing with Jack and Tara too.
September also always means the food drive! We delivered and picked up bags as usual, although this year, our kids seemed to be a lot faster and it went really quickly. I guess they're getting older!
We continued with our General Conference tradition of eating German pancakes for breakfast, along with bacon, fruit, and orange juice. Delicious and always a great start to our day of watching the prophets speak.
Some other random photos from these months include hot tubbing (we do this a lot!) and the movie theatre with Leo and Boston to see the new Paw Patrol movie. That was actually so fun! Bentley took some random photos while we were baking, and my girls night crew that I watch The Bachelor with.
