Taylor Swift in Vegas

I still can't believe this, but my dreams came true this March!! Jeff got me some Taylor Swift tickets and invited Emily and Matt along too. Not to mention she was playing in Vegas, so we also stayed 3 nights to make it a mini vacation without the kids! It was truly a dream, and I'm still not over it!!
I've always been a big Taylor Swift fan, a Swifty if you will. Tickets were sold out instantly, but still available through 3rd party sellers, so they were quite pricy. I actually didn't even know if any were available when I jokingly told Jeff he should get me Taylor Swift tickets for Christmas last year. Apparently there were some available and Jeff did end up getting them for me for Christmas!!! He couldn't really keep it a surprise because he needed to make sure I was available and that we could find a babysitter, but he set up everything himself. My parents were away during the time Taylor Swift was in Vegas, but luckily Don and Cindy agreed to have the kids for the whole time we were gone. Bless them! We ended up going for 3 night - from March 23 to 26th.

It was so fun to have Emily and Matt there too. We had a good mix of hanging out with all 4 of us, just Jeff and I, and the girls and boys splitting up. We arrived on Thursday night and stayed at the Aria. It was such a nice, classy hotel and our room was amazing! It had a really nice bath with a tray filled with all the things, a separate living room area, and a switch for night and day that turned everything on or off, closed or opened the drapes, and even said "Good night" or "Good Morning." It was awesome. I think I took a long bath every day we were there. That night Jeff and I went out for dinner just the two of us to a place called Crush in MGM Grand and it was quite delicious. Then we went to the M&M store to buy our kids m&m's with their names on it. It was so cool and the kids loved that gift! There was no fighting about how many m&m's each person got because they could only eat the ones with their names on it. We explored a little bit before we went back to the hotel to relax.

Friday was the big day, but before the concert we ate breakfast at the most delicious restaurant called Salt & Ivy. It was to die for!! I had the most delicious avocado toast and dutch baby pancake with berries. It was so good that we ended up eating at the same place the next day too! After breakfast we decided to do some shopping and took an Uber to the Fashion Show Mall. This mall has everything you could ever want. It was one of the best times I have every had shopping. We all bought things until we were spent and then headed home for dinner and to get ready for the concert.
We were running low on time so the boys grabbed some pizza and brought it back to our room while Emily and I got ready together while blasting Taylor Swift tunes. We had multiple possible outfits, so we tried on different ones until we decided what we wanted to wear. When it was time to go, we decided to take an Uber. It took place at the Allegiant Stadium, which holds 65000 people. It was huge, but we went ballistic when we saw how close our seats were! We were in the 100 section, but pretty close to the main stage. We weren't on the floor, but it was very easy to see Taylor and when she walked to one part of the stage it felt like she was looking at us! The concert was the best one I've ever been to. It was her Eras tour so she had songs from each one of her albums, and had so many different set designs and costume changes, which made it so entertaining! It was almost 3 and a half hours long and she sang 44 songs. Her two surprise songs for us were Snow on the Beach and Our Song. Even though it was so long, I didn't want it to end! We danced the night away and basically had the time of our lives. The boys enjoyed it, obviously not as much as the girls did though. They were troopers though! The best husbands. Matt snuck out at one point and bought Emily and I t-shirts, so now we can always remember one of the best nights ever!
Coming out of the stadium was insane. The crowd of people was unreal and we decided the only way to get home was to walk. There was a walking bridge that went over the highway to the strip and then we had to walk from Mandalay Bay to the Aria. Getting onto the bridge was nuts and we ended up climbing over the railings to get onto it since the crowd wasn't moving by the entrance. My dress was so tight, the boys had to help me over. After that it took almost an hour to walk home. My boots had a heel on them, luckily not too tall, but my feet were still killing by the end of it. The adrenaline was pumping through us so I didn't mind too much, but when I got back to the apartment I had a nice soak in the tub, which felt amazing on my feet especially! I ended up watching all the videos I had taken on my phone and stayed up until like 3 in the morning. Jeff likes to make fun of me for this, but it was just such a good time!

The next morning we slept in and then had breakfast at Salt and Ivy again. We sat outside and it was so nice. The weather definitely wasn't pool weather and even got a little cold at night, but it was nice in the daytime in the sun. Emily and I went to the spa that day to get massages, facials, and body wraps (which I had never tried). It was all so nice! We tried out the pools and it was a really nice facility. Jeff and Matt last minute decided to get tickets for the March Madness game so they did that while we were at the spa. Emily and I also decided to see the Shin Lim magic show, which was also really good! Afterwards we all met up at Wolfgang Puck for dinner. It was a late dinner and we were all pretty tired, so we went back to our hotels after and enjoyed the last night of freedom. We had to get up early the next day for our flight home.

This trip was a dream, and I'll definitely never forget it! It's always nice to get away from the kids for a little bit to feel human again. As silly as it might seem, I have a hard time at home if I don't have anything to look forward to. It's what helps me be a good mom and be happy with them. We almost didn't make it because when we were leaving Scott ended up having to get surgery on his achilles. Don ended up being out of town after all and Kellie needed Cindy's help with the kids or Scott. We debated not going, but Cindy was a trooper and took on all the tasks. A lot of the time she had to watch all of the kids, but she did it like a champ and I am very grateful!
