We had a great week at Echo Lake at the beginning of August. We got some rain, but made sure to get to the boat in-between storms. It gave me a chance to see Brad Pitt in F1 and go for a shopping spree! Fishing, tubing, and surfing were at the top of the kids agendas this year and Deacon was in actual heaven when Uncle Scott caught a turtle he could play with. Boston got in the water on day 100 and decided he loved swimming just in time to leave. Leo made some neighbor friends and all the kids played in the sand, trampoline, and swing sets for hours.
Justin was able to be there, and he planned a night out at the Big Fork playhouse to see a play called "Rotten." He even gave Grandma (Darlene) tickets for Christmas. We all went and were worried a bit about a few swears at the beginning. It turned out that the swears were nothing compared to what else came. The play got worse and worse as it went on with basically the entire thing about sex, we really couldn't believe it! We could see Justin squirming in front of us, as he had taken his Grandma to this! Jeff and I, and Scott and Kellie, could not stop laughing at the situation. It was hard not to! They left at the intermission, but it will forever be something we joke about and Justin will never live down! The crazy thing is, there were no hints it would be like this, and it was not rated badly!
Every year at the cabin seems to get better for us. As the kids get older, we can actually relax a little bit and enjoy ourselves. We had a great time with Jeff's family and even met up with some of my family on Sunday at the park in Kalispell.
Deacon stayed for an extra week with Scott and Kellie. He was super pumped about that! While we were gone, he even learned to slalom! So cool. Hopefully he'll be doing it easy next year and not forget.
