The rest of the summer consisted of more parks and playdates, McDonalds, Deacon getting a perm again, and Bentley constantly baking (which she's become really good at).
We did buy tickets for "The Big Bounce," which was at Spruce Meadows where they just had a ton of bouncy castles. They had one that was so big, I've never seen anything like it. They give you an hour time slot to go in, and it was epic! They had a DJ in the middle, huge slides and little slides, ball pits, and it was so much fun just to run in it. I stayed with Boston so he didn't get lost in there and it was so fun to see him having such a blast! The other kids loved it as well. Most of the other bouncy castles were better for older kids, so I'm glad they had this for Boston. Jade came along with us too and the older kids did some obstacle course ones that you go through. It was a good time!
On Aug.22, I went with Emily Whitely to Vegas to see the Backstreet Boys concert. It was a fairly last minute plan, but ended up being so fun! We stayed at "The Wynn" and it was such a nice hotel! I had never stayed there before, but would definitely go back. The best part was that it connected to the Sphere (where the concert was) and we could literally see it from our window. We stayed 2 nights, so we had a little time to do other things. When we first got there, we ate a delicious meal at a restaurant in the hotel, and then randomly decided to see the show "The Awakening," which was also in the hotel! We didn't even have to go anywhere. The show was a really nice surprise. The effects were incredible! We enjoyed it more than we would have thought, and were happy with our decision to go. The next day we committed a lot of our day to the pool. It was so nice and hot! Then we decided we needed to go to the M&M store to personalize ones with our kids names on it. We walked all the way there! I was okay, but Emily doesn't do well with heat, so she ended up with a bit of a migraine. She was okay at the concert but didn't do well on the flight home though! I felt bad. The m&m's were really cute though! The show was really good. That night, we got all dressed up in our white outfits and followed the signs and groups of people to the Sphere. It was so cool to see the place packed with people all in white! The show was really good and fun to see the effects of the sphere, but nothing like a Taylor Swift concert I can say that!! We had a great time together.
My parents planned a fun day in August where they brought a picnic to the Forgetmenot Pond. I've been there before and always loved the place! It's so pretty. We walked around the pond and ate our picnic, and then went to Bragg Creek for some ice cream. It was so nice of my parents to bring yummy food. My mom has always loved picnics and I love being out in nature so it was a great time!
I had been meaning to do a Lemonade stand all summer with the kids, so when it was coming to an end, I realized we needed to squeeze that in. We actually squeezed lemons and made delicious lemonade again! I also made some energy balls and the kids decided to sell their bead pets and bracelets they had been making. Leo also had some glitter tattoos, but we had no takers on those! Jeff was able to help me this time bring everything to the orange park. We did it there last year and it was a good spot! We had lots of customers, including the Loewen's, and it was a lot of fun! I don't remember how much we made, but it was a fair bit! We split up the earning between everyone.
On Labour Day weekend, Brent and Bailey threw a joint birthday party for all their kids out at her parents acreage, as usual. It's always a lot of fun to go there. Boston is really liking playing with Jack lately, and the kids all like to explore their garden and everything else. They rented a bouncy castle this year and we all had a good time. The last hurrah before school starting!
