November

November was a great month! The weather stayed warm for so long, with no early snowfall at all. The pictures of us in the hot tub are from Nov.1st, after sleeping in, because our school has finally come to their senses and put a PD day after Halloween. They've also given us a Fall Break in November. The kids now get a whole week off near Remembrance day. Unfortunately, Jeff had to go out of town on a work trip for 3 of those days, so we didn't go to Mexico like we were considering. But we did decide to take a couple of those days and go to the Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge. The kids had such a blast there! We swam in the pool, but unfortunately the big hot tub was closed for construction. It was very sad! Boston found a little slide that he loved, and we warmed up in the steam room a lot. We also roasted marshmallows in the evening and signed up for a few of the kids activities, like Bingo and slime making (which was a big hit). There was also a play room and work out room that we checked out again. We've been here before so we knew our way around and remembered how much we love the restaurants, especially Forte. The buffet is great for kids as always, but the food is spectacular for adults too. One night, we had Bentley babysit while Jeff and I went to the Nordic Spa. We just did the hydrotherapy, and loved it! We did the cold plunge a few times and tried to make it to every pool, sauna, and steam room. The salt scrub room with the showers was also very fun and unique. We had a great time! I had brought a bunch of toys and Lego for the kids and found a show for them to watch so they were very happy in the hotel room. Boston talks about this place all the time now and how much he misses it!

The kids went to some birthday parties and Tammy sent some pictures from Spencer and Violet's parties that are so fun. Spencer had his at Flying Squirrel and Bentley got to tag along to hang out with Vi, and then Violet had hers at Color Me Mine. 

My birthday was next! Bentley made me the cutest Taylor Swift card, but all the kids made me really cute cards that I always appreciate so much. Jeff even helped them buy me little gifts, like a Toblerone. They know I love those! I decided to use my birthday as an excuse to get together with some friends. I had never been to Activate before, so we got a few couples to come play there with us and then eat at Costa Vida. The real gift though...was getting to go to Toronto with Bentley to see Taylor Swift again! I really wanted Bentley to experience the magic, so the day after my birthday we left. I will write about this in the next post!
