On October 1st, I gave the kids some matching jammies and we decorated a little bit for Halloween! I found a cute pirate costume for Boston for Halloween early on in the month (because he LOVES boats and wants to be a pirate of a ship). Leo entered a coloring contest from a random picture in the Legacy Community book. I found it and thought we may as well submit something for fun. I definitely didn't think we'd win but we did! So we got a $20 gift card to Crumbl Cookies and we all went there for a treat one day.
Red Deer Lake School had a Halloween Party that we all went to. There were carnival games with prizes, a dance, and concessions. Everyone had a good time with their friends and loved dressing up. This year Deacon was a big blow up dinosaur. I didn't think he'd last very long inside of it, but he stayed in it the whole night! Bentley was a rapper with her friend Madi, but the costume wasn't quite ready for the dance. Leo loved being his favorite thing - Captain America.
We carved pumpkins with the Bennett's on the Sunday before Halloween, as is tradition. It was at our house this time. We ate dinner and then got to the pumpkin carving. The girls made Taylor Swift pumpkins of course, Boston made himself with glasses, Leo made a ghost, and Deacon made ghost face. We love to play Halloween music, see them all lit up, and visit with the Bennett's. It's always a good night!
Bentley and I snuck out for a little "witch's night out" one night to Covet. We dressed as witches, got cookies and drinks and visited with a bunch of friends. Lena put it together and invited our original play group. It's always fun to see everyone again!
Halloween eventually came and of course the kids got all dressed up for school. Boston and I went to watch the parade in the gym and had a great time! Boston loved dancing to the music. After school, we went home and had my parents over. They brought over soup for us, and also came trick or treating with us. We walked over to meet up with the Locking's, but didn't last very long with them because we were fast. We found an awesome street in Legacy that was really decorated, had fires, and a super fun vibe. Once we got cold, we went home and devoured the candy!
