Bentley's Taylor Swift 10th Birthday Party

I thought we might be tired of Taylor Swift themed events, but when Bentley and I started thinking about the things we could do for her party, Taylor Swift was all she wanted! We decided to make 10 a really special birthday party and go all out. The next years birthdays will be small.
So to start it all off, we decided to give the girls the "Taylor Swift treatment" and rent a limo to pick them up from school and take them to our house. I told the driver to come half an hour after school ended so that we wouldn't make a scene and there would be no hurt feelings for anyone that might see it and not be invited in. It's tricky sometimes to avoid leaving people out, but Bentley invited all the same friends she's invited since Kindergarten. It worked out perfectly! While we waited for the limo to come, the girls changed into their Taylor Swift outfits that we had told them to bring and they all looked adorable. The girls screamed as they saw the hot pink limo pull up and were so excited to go inside. It was the cutest design inside with pink seats and Taylor Swift music blasting.
Once they arrived at our house, we ate some dinner. I had the table set up all cute with disco ball drinks, plates, and menus that were entitled "I Knew You Were Hungry When You Walked In." The food items were all themed lyrics like "This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Wings" and "Back to Decem-burgers." It was really fun putting it together!
After dinner, we had Bentley open her presents. She got a lot of Taylor Swift themed gifts which were the cutest! She got a hoodie that said Swiftie Est.1989, a TS blanket, and a TS calendar. All the gifts were awesome, and she was very spoiled! After that we did cake. Bentley had requested Nutella cheesecake. My mom is the one who always makes that, and since she's on a mission right now, I got the recipe from her and tried it on my own. It turned out fabulous! I decorated it with some last minute decorations I found and it was perfect.
After cake, we had 2 people come over to do nails, hair and makeup. As the kids took turns getting beautified, the others could take photos in the booth I had set up. We had lots of props, including pink and silver cowboy hats, a pink guitar, glasses, and many more things. They all used Bentley's polaroid and had a lot of fun with it! I also had some games prepared. I had everyone put lipstick on, kiss a cue card, and then write their name on the back. I set all the cards out with numbers on them and had the girls write down their guesses of who's lips are who? Then I gave out some lip gloss as a prize for the two who got the most right. We also played pictionary with Taylor song titles, read magazines, and I took the girls out in 2 separate groups to do sparklers to the song "Sparks Fly."
The nails, hair, and makeup took a lot longer than I thought, so parents started showing up when we weren't quite ready for them. I had them wait 15 extra minutes, and I felt bad for keeping them past 8 on a school night! We wrapped up and quickly had the girls walk down the pink carpet.
Bentley had a lot of fun and was so grateful! The thing I failed to mention, though, was that she was throwing up the night before!! I thought I might have to cancel the party, but luckily she had a very quick recovery. She skipped school the day of her birthday, but then got her appetite back, so we thought it'd be okay to go ahead with the party. She may not have had as much energy as she would've had, which was a bummer, but she was really happy we still did it! It was a dream party.

We love Bentley and her fun personality. She has a way with words and seems to always join in our adult conversations. She loves Taylor Swift, FRIENDS, fashion, summer, organizing and planning, and being creative. She also loves skin care products and has cutest rotating organizer for all her stuff. She shines at school, being at the top of her class in most subjects. She plays the piano and basketball. She does a great job babysitting her siblings, but can't wait to have her own room soon, instead of sharing with 2 brothers! She loves family time together and really loved our meat fondue we had. Can't wait to see where life takes this girl!
