Spring/Preschool Grad

We had such a great Spring this year! The weather was pretty good so we got to do lots of fun things outside and go places that aren't too busy because most kids are still in school. I will definitely miss these days when all my kids are in school full time! Bentley obviously still had preschool in the morning every other day and we had Play School every Thursday also, but on the other days we would always look for an adventure.
Bentley and Deacon also got to do soccer this Spring with all their friends! Lena and Jennie set it up and made a schedule where two moms teach each age group each week. So, each mom ended up teaching every other week, but it was so much fun for everyone that I didn't mind doing that at all! Bentley is actually getting really good and I enjoyed watching the games their age group would play. Deacon's age group was a little crazy and easily distracted, but it was still fun for them. Deacon didn't want to listen to the coaches some days, but other days he did great. We ended with a snack for everyone every week which was probably their favorite part! And on the last day they got medals and everyone brought a snack to share so it was like a feast!!

One day we went to the Quarry Park Library for a Super hero day. The kids dressed up and we met some super heroes. There weren't as many activities as I was hoping for but the kids did get to go in a fire truck on our way out!

We've been enjoying our backyard. The kids love the simple things in life and are really easily entertained! So even though most of our play stuff is getting too small for them, they just need a pool and some popsicles and they're good! That's one thing I love about them. They also like to have play dates in our backyard. This year we had some birds build a nest right under our deck and it was so fun to watch babies be born and then see the birds continuously bring worms to the nest to feed them. Unfortunately one of the babies fell from the nest and died, that was a bit of a tragedy, but other than that it was amazing to watch! We also really enjoy the path behind us, the kids bike around the pond almost every day. Leo loves to be outside too, and loves water even more than that. Sometimes I can't get him changed quick enough before I see he has climbed into the pool already in his clothes! He is seriously drawn to water, I even found he had climbed up into the water table one day, and was sitting in it like it was a pool. He definitely cracks me up!

Bentley tried out a new class at the same dance place in Chaparral called Acrobatics. It was basically a lot of bear crawls, crab walks, somersaults, among other things. She loved it though, and always came out so happy afterwards! I always enjoy watching her perform too.

We had some fun with Play School this June and decided to do an outdoor activity each week. We rode our bikes around the pond and had ice cream at Annie's in fish creek. Some days it rained so we ended up doing music makers or having play dates inside, but it was lots of fun! Love these girls I get to see each week.

We explored Spruce Meadows one day with our new friend, Jordyn Rodych and it was really fun. We played at a park and then saw a bunch of horses in training as we walked around. Deacon loved it! Bentley was in school so it was a just the boys.

One of my favorite days was when we took the c train to the Olympic Plaza downtown and the kids played in the water with their friends. Lena and Jennie also came and I just love the way these kids play together! They rarely fight and mostly just giggle the whole time. Besides Deacon having to go potty every 10 minutes it seemed like, it was a beautiful day with the best company. There are so many fun places downtown and I love to explore it.

We hit up the Mckenzie Towne splash park one day and I thoroughly enjoyed watching Leo just go straight to the water and get soaking wet. He loves it. We also tried the Flying Squirrel another day, the trampoline place. And we ended that with ice cream, super fun! (And exhausting trying to keep Leo entertained). Another day Bentley got to go to a really cute Princess Tea Party put on by Ashley Fairbanks and Laura Dunford. I didn't stay, but it looked so cute!

Lastly, we got a zoo membership and have been having fun visiting the animals! The butterflies were a hit as well as the gorillas and always the penguins. It's a great thing to do when it's not too hot, even when it's raining, but the kids sometimes get a little bored so it might be our last year getting a membership there!

Spring ended and Bentley graduated preschool! I know, it sounds crazy that they actually have a "graduation" from Preschool. I mean, it's just preschool. But somehow I still got a little emotional about it. My baby is growing up and going to a real school. I won't see her as much and she will be influenced by others a lot more than she is now. It's scary! But, I also know she's an amazing girl and I'm so excited to see her succeed. Her teachers in Preschool, Ms. Janice and Ms. Julie, were awesome and she really enjoyed attending A Child First Preschool in Chaparral. They only said great things about Bentley and they seemed to always have cute little crafts and events for holidays. Bentley wasn't too sad to leave her friends because she is so excited to start Kindergarten at Red Deer Lake School! She knows some of her cousins are going there right now (Emri, Brek, Riley, Ethan and Skyler). I'm excited we got her into Red Deer Lake because there was a waiting list and not everyone gets in. Anyways, the graduation was really cute with some songs and certificates, presents, pictures and snacks. Jeff joined us as well.

They sent me this picture one day when they were making ice cream.

To finish, I just wanted to share this cute photo of Deacon with Grandpa Cooper! For some reason Deacon really likes him and just always talks to him and gives him hugs, no shyness at all. It's absolutely adorable to watch.

Ok two more cute pics...the first one is when Jeff was trying to leave for work and all the kids wanted to wrestle with him! So cute. The last one is when we were doing our "Come, Follow Me" that we do every Sunday morning and we were learning about when Jesus washed his disciple's feet.
