Anyways, we really enjoyed the day there. The campground was call Sibbald Lake, which is only about an hour away from Calgary. So we left around 7 (dropped off Leo at Cindy's to make it a little more enjoyable) and got there for breakfast around 8. We cooked our food on a little camping stove and made bacon, pancakes and juice. At lunchtime we roasted hotdogs and then smores, because we just HAD to do that even if it wasn't nighttime. We also brought watermelon, salad, and some other snacks and it was delicious!
We headed over to the lake after breakfast and the kids had fun throwing rocks and playing in the shore, also scooping dirt into buckets and playing games. The Bennetts brought a little raft so they blew it up and the kids all went on rides on the water. They also brought their bikes and rode around a little, which they loved. We did a short hike as well, and the kids were in such great moods that they didn't complain once. Sometimes they say it's too much walking but they were having a blast! I had also bought them these exploring bags that included binoculars, bug catching stuff, a magnifying glass, and more. So, they had a lot of fun with those things the entire time as well. There was a playground right there too so the kids played there for a while. It was such a fun day! I'm sure we will be doing more camping trips this summer, maybe next time we'll actually sleep there!
