Well, it took some time for Bentley, but by the end of the trip she really enjoyed swimming in the lake, and would go on short tube rides. She had a blast playing with her cousins, Brek and Emri. She enjoyed the other activities the cabin has to offer, like the playground, sprinkler, and Papa's razor. The adults all had fun this year playing pickleball. The Ady's turned their "garage pad" into a pickleball court, which was a lot of fun. I also got to go into town to do some shopping! We had a great week. Bentley and Deacon were in heaven.
After that week, Jeff had to go home and back to work. He also had Moroni's Quest that he had to be at the next week since he's in Young Men's. So, instead of going home and being bored without him, I took the kids to Ashley Lake, and Jocelyn and her family were there visiting from Arizona. So I was pretty excited to see them!! Bentley was also really excited to see those cousins. She got along with Brookie so well, and Deacon fell in love Mabel, their new baby! We all got to meet her. Every time we get together with the Fox's we have such a blast! I really miss them since they moved to Arizona. I hardly saw Bentley that week, as she was always off playing with the cousins in the tree house or wherever. And they all love and give Deacon lots of attention as well. Every time Deacon saw Mabel he would get so excited and want to touch her. I taught him to be soft so he would softly stroke her head...it was pretty adorable. The kids enjoyed all the fun activities we did, including swimming, paddle boating, bird watching, and much more!

Later on in August, I got to go back to Ashley Lake, this time with Jeff! For the first few days Tamara and her family were there, which was so fun! Bentley got to play with Scarlett, and Deacon has this special bond with Griffin, which I find so adorable! All their kids were so great and I really enjoyed hanging out with them, as I always do. It's also fun to watch them ski and do lots of things behind the boat! Many hours were spent in there. Bentley got to be really brave and went on the EZski. She even stood up on it! She also liked tubing, more so when I sat with her. We'd even go over waves and she'd laugh and think it was so fun. She also got to the point where she loved swimming in the lake and would always ask to go swimming. Even though the water was pretty chilly, I was impressed with how brave she was! It was also nice that we got to warm up in the hottub after!
Many hours were also spent playing pickleball. Just this year my parents got the cement poured and made into a pickleball court. It was so fun, I already miss playing! My parents also created a little gravel pit for the little ones to dig in while we played, Deacon loved it. Jeff also used the Loewen's quad sometimes and both kids loved going for rides.
On the Sunday, after church we brought some bread and fed some ducks at the duck pond. Bentley has been asking me to do this for a long time, so she had a blast! Although, the big ones on land scared her, so she kept to the little ones in the water. Deacon thought it was cool, but was more interested in eating the bread himself.
When the Loewen's left we were there on our own with my parents, and we still had a lot of fun. They even let us have a date night! We went for dinner and a movie. We saw the Glass Castle, which we both loved. On Friday night, Jordan and his family showed up so we got to hang out with them for a day. Unfortunately it wasn't for very long because we left in the late afternoon on Saturday. We had lots of fun with them though! It was good to see their skills behind the boat as well, and it was fun watching Deacon with their dog Charlie. He's so cute with dogs, whereas Bentley tried to keep her distance.
What a fun holiday it was!! I was really sad to leave! I'm so lucky to have these places to go to in the summertime.
