Summer begins

The beginning of summer started out nice and easy. We all went to the Toy Story 5 movie and loved it. Bentley had a youth conference that weekend and stuck with Harlow for most of it. They had a circus themed type event, classes, food, and a testimony meeting on Sunday. I think she had a really good time with it.
I bought passes to Calaway Park this summer, so I thought I'd get a jump on things and go before we left for Echo Lake. I asked Lena to come with us and unfortunately the day we picked looked like it was gonna be rainy and cold. We decided to still go and give a try. We brought our rain coats and were ready to leave early when we got cold. It turned out to be such a nice day! The sun came out and it was the perfect sweater weather. The added bonus was that everyone else thought it would be cold and rainy so the park was empty! We walked right onto the log ride a few times and the kids did the roller coaster no problem. I think it was our best day there ever! Since it was so easy to get onto the log ride, I decided to bring Boston on with me one time. Before the big drop, there is always a little drop and after we went down that little drop, Boston was screaming in terror and asking to get off. We were, of course, stuck and had to finish the ride. I felt so bad for taking him on with me, but we made it through and vowed to stick to the little kid rides for him from then on. He was adorable to take on the little rides and I just really enjoyed watching him and sitting beside him on the rides that I could. The big kids did the scary rides over and over and we all had such a great day!
On Canada day, we brought our pickleball net and rackets to the park in Wolf Willow. There is a basketball court there that also has lines for pickleball. We went with Rebecca and Trevor and had a great time! We enjoyed a little tournament and Bentley and Deacon had fun playing too. The kids also played basketball and at the park as well. Then we headed to Wayback burgers and grabbed some food.
On the day we were leaving for Echo Lake, Dakota was coming home from her mission. We decided to welcome her at the airport. We made signs and gave her big hugs when she came out. It was really fun to see one of our favorite people and babysitters again! That afternoon, we headed to Echo Lake.
