School's Out!

That last day of school is always so bitter sweet. The kids had such great teachers and friends in their classes this year that we will miss. For Leo it's the end of an era, as he is now finished at Renfrew and moving on to Grade 1 at RDL next year! No more bus coming straight to our house, but he is sure ready to move on. Boston will be going to preschool in the Fall for just a few hours, 2 days a week. Mostly he will still be my side kick, only a little more bored without Leo to play with a lot of the time. I was very happy with the kids' grades and had no complaints with how the year went!
The kids participated in the school year end talent show again, which is always so fun to come to watch! Boston was a little worn out and fell asleep on me as we watched it. Bentley performed a dance with a few of her friends to the Taylor Swift song, "Are you Ready for it?" and Deacon played one of his piano songs called "Spooks." It was great having Violet in the dance group because Tammy helped them with their dance and even provided costumes for them!
We also had Bentley and Deacon's piano recital where they each performed a few songs, did a duet together, and Bentley also sang two songs. One of them was "Castle on a Cloud," which I was able to accompany. It's always a fun experience playing the piano while she sings! They both did great and, while they may not always enjoy practicing the piano, they sure adore their teacher, Markita Sheen. She is a lot of fun for them, and Bentley especially enjoyed having her as a school teacher this year as well.
Club basketball came to an end and it was a lot of fun for both of them. The highlights were probably the hoodies they both got, friends, the Alley-Oop tournaments, and watching them play against each other was pretty entertaining as well. They were short on young teams, so for the first tournament they put boys and girls together, which meant they played against each other, and even ended up guarding each other. It was hilarious! The girls ended up losing to them in the tournament, but had to show them they could win in an exhibition game. On the last day of practice, the girls all brought their favorite candy and put together a candy salad to enjoy together.
We were so excited for summer and ready to enjoy free time and warm weather together! Bentley and I got pedicures to get ready for cabin time!
