Arizona 2024

It took us a while to figure out our Spring Break trip this year. We wanted to combine Arizona with visiting my parents in San Diego, but we also noticed that flights were very expensive for the times we wanted. With some switching around, we ended up finding good deals and the kids only had to miss 3 days of school. We flew to Arizona on Tuesday, Apr.2 and spent 5 nights there. The first day, however, we came in late and stayed in a hotel because Jordan and Melanie were still in the guest house. We chose a cheap place and all stayed in one room. After the 5 nights we drove 5 hours to San Diego, stayed for 3 nights, and flew home from there. It worked out great!
I'll focus on Arizona in this post first and all the adventures we had there. Joce and Jeff are great hosts and always make us feel so welcome! We had a lot of fun swimming in their pool and hanging out in their yard with the chickens and goats next door, and picking fruit from the trees. They also had baby chicks this year, which the kids loved to play with. Joce took her younger kids out of school for a day so they had more time to hang out with us, which was so nice of her. We ended up going to Freestone Park and climbing the biggest spider rope I've ever seen. There were lots of parks around there, including a splash park. We also made our way to the Bass Pro shop and then ate at Culver's for lunch, and swam for the rest of the day. When it was just our family one day we visited "Hole in the Rock," which was a lot of fun, ate at Hog Wild BBQ Pit, and bounced at Altitude Trampoline Park. We also decided to go to a Suns game. Last year we took Deacon and Eli, but this time we decided to bring Bentley and Brooke too. Our seats were pretty high up, but we still had such a blast. Deacon was in actual heaven and he was even given a cool Suns chain necklace thing from a stranger. We kept switching seats so we had a variety of people we were sitting with, and we bought some delicious ice cream. Deacon got the Suns ice cream, and when I took a picture of him it made the background go purple. We think the ice cream was magic? Bentley loved the experience too! Such a blast, and so nice to have Holli to babysit. We also had a date night with Joce and Jeff and went to Smoking Tiger Korean BBQ. It was a really fun place where you cook your own food on the grill in front of you, and the sides were very unique and delicious. We ended up going to Creme and Chocolats for dessert.
Another thing we did was ride horses at Joce and Jeff's neighbors house. We didn't go on a big trail, but it was fun to go around their yard, and even Boston and Leo could do it too! Bentley loves riding horses and has proven to be very good at it. We also threw some axes at this house and had a good time. They were very nice people!
I was able to sneak away to Target with Bentley and Down East on my own. We also made sure we hit Yogurtland, the kids' favorite ice cream place. We also got Boba donuts and Swig, and there was no shortage of treats! We were there for General Conference and were lucky to join in on the Fox's breakfasts. One of Leo's highlights was cutting up and juicing oranges!
We packed in the fun and then started our drive to San Diego on the Sunday. Such a fun time!
