New Year's Eve

This year we decided to throw a little New Year's Eve party with the kids. I've never actually celebrated with the kids before, but figured this year was the perfect opportunity. We definitely didn't stay up until midnight, but we did a countdown at like 8pm and let the kids stay up an hour past their bedtime. Jeff and I created a balloon drop and we danced to fun music with glow in the dark necklaces and wands.
For dinner that night we did lots of fun appetizers and a yummy slushy drink. We played lots of games that the kids had made up, with my help as well. Bentley made a list of the order we were doing everything for the party, and it was cute to see how excited they were! After the countdown we planned on watching our home videos from the year (a fun tradition I like to do on Jan.1). Jeff couldn't get it working in time for that night so we watched them the next morning. The kids love seeing all the little videos of themselves throughout the year!

It's definitely been quite a year! One that I wouldn't want to do over. All of this covid craziness is still not over, but there is hope in thinking we made it through 9 months, and by the time 2021 is over, hopefully it will be in the past by then. I've also made it through some hard things, including the worst stages of pregnancy and Leo dropping his naps. There's lots more to come, and the world is definitely not the most peaceful place right now, but thank goodness for my amazing family and great friends around me. There is truly lots to be grateful for.
