I can't believe how fast Bentley is growing up. It seems that I turn around and another tooth has fallen out! She has now lost 4 teeth (2 bottom, 2 top) and just seems to be getting smarter every day. She reads all her books now and even started reading chapter books! I'm shocked at how fast she has picked it up, and even more shocked that she can actually comprehend everything she reads. I'm not sure what she needs grade 1 for! She's also great at joking and teasing, especially with her Dad. She has a way of convincing people to do what she wants. Too smart for her own good you might say! She does have a temper, which we are working on. Overall, she is so sweet and organized, and great at helping and playing with her brothers. She loves schedules and making sure she knows when the next thing is that she's looking forward to. We love her!
Deacon is such a sweet boy, who really cares about how others are feeling. When we're eating dinner, he'll finish it and I'll ask if he wants more or if he likes it. He'll sometimes answer with "no thank you. I didn't really like it, but I just wanted to make you happy." It cracks me up! He's always the first to say thank you and I love you, and truly mean it. It will come out of nowhere and just melt my heart. He also loves giving tight hugs and kisses. Deacon has always been really good at playing with his toys for hours. We just built a sandbox in our backyard, and he can spend hours in it with his dinosaurs. He is very into animals and loves any books that involve them, especially if they are fighting each other. He loves nature and stopping to look at everything as we are walking or hiking. We've seen some bears, moose and deer this year and he was beyond excited! He's also a natural athlete, learning to ride his bike this summer took no time, and he loves to climb and run fast. His speech is getting way better and he loves to do crafts at school, or home, especially cutting and gluing. We love having Deacon, our little peacemaker and the one who has the most contagious excitement for life!
I'm not sure where to start with Leo. He is the cutest little thing, but also the most defiant! I'm hoping part of this has to do with his age, he's only 2, and maybe he'll grow out of it. He has definitely made life a lot harder for me though...I have a hard time taking him hiking or even on walks when he refuses to sit in his stroller and won't walk the way we are going. I'm thinking it's the terrible twos! However, he is also so cute and determined. When he knows what he wants, he will sure go after it. I'm sure this quality will serve him well in the future. He loves food and especially helping me cook it. He can almost always be found up on the counter, by the kitchen sink, washing some vegetables or "doing the dishes." He loves water. Luckily, he is a great sleeper. He climbed out of his crib quite early, so a couple months ago we put him in a big boy bed, but we still lock his door so he can't get out and roam around. He has made the most messes and broken more things than our other kids combined, but we sure love him anyway! He gives the cutest smiles and giggles and we love that handsome face!
I'm not sure how we would make it without Jeff. He is our rock. A great provider, excellent Dad, and always there when we need him! It's hard to believe we created this family but here we are!!
