The Saturday before this we went to Aggie Days. It was very busy, but still a lot of fun. Jeff and I are very different people in that he hates going to events like these and I absolutely love them. I would hit every event I could find if I could and Jeff would prefer to stay home and and make our own fun. Anyways, we do a bit of both and this was fun. The highlight was the Carriage ride, a bit of a wait, but so fun to have the horses ride us around. There were lots of other things to do and see and the kids loved all the animals.
I love to explore new places and whenever I get the urge to go somewhere I seem to text Lena and she is always down to come with! I wanted to go visit the Devonian Gardens so we took the c-train together with all of our kids, walked around the gardens, played at the cool park they have, stared at the fish for a long time, found some free samples at the mall, and then rode the train home. Our kids always get along so well and it's so nice to have them all the same age and gender!!
Bentley is really loving school these days, and we just found out that she got into Red Deer Lake School! I have lots of friends who have their kids in there and just rave about it. When I visited, it was amazing how friendly everyone was and the school looks awesome. I think Bentley will do really great there and love it. Her cousin, Emri, is also in that school only a grade above her. For now, Bentley is really enjoying preschool and learning everything so fast! She is gone for 3 hours on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. Here are some pictures of her on backwards day!
Here are a few more highlights of Play School, just because we have so much fun on Thursdays! Jaycie did a really cute one about fairy tales and painting castles was a big highlight.
Jeff has been going through a really big transition at work. Everything is being transferred over to a new platform, which means every client has to be notified and sign a bunch of documents. It's a good thing, but a lot of work! So Jeff has been working many many long hours, which means I'm "working" many many long hours. Anyways, we've been surviving, but mostly I feel like I'm just trying to make it to the next day. It's really nice to have good friends who I can have fun outings with and actually enjoy myself! Jeff hired a new assistant, Andrew, and so we had dinner with him and his wife, Jordyn. Turned out that I got her number and we've been getting together weekly for a play date. This was a new park she showed me in Belmont. It's awesome!
Since I'm always looking for ways to entertain the kids (and also I've been craving going to disneyland with them), I heard about how the Disney store let's kids open the store for them. So I took them just before 9:30 and luckily nobody else was there so Bentley got to use the big key to open the store. They had some music and talked about how we need a little pixie dust to help make it work, and then when she opened it they also gave her a little disney souvenir key. It was really cute! Then I bought the kids some disney pajamas that were on sale because those are always my favorite!
We always love going to gymnastics drop-ins! Here we are at Altadore with the Bennett's again and those foam blocks are so fun! There was also a rope that the kids loved swinging on. Bentley is very cautious with everything, but she is starting to get brave and try lots of things she never used to.
Speaking of Bentley, on Apr.22, she learned to ride her bike with no training wheels! She probably could've done it sooner if I had more time to practice with her, but I finally decided that I needed to teach her because I knew how much more fun she would have without the training wheels and boy was I right! We bribed her with any candy she wanted and it took a few different times out practicing for her to get it, but eventually she did and now it's all she wants to do. Pretty much every day and every time we get home from school she asks if she can go ride her bike and I absolutely say yes! It's so nice to have the path right behind our house and I just tell her to stay along the one side where I can see her and she's really good at always coming back. It's so fun to see her so proud of herself, almost amazed that she actually did it!
This month I cashed in my Christmas gift from Jeff and hired cleaners to deep clean our house! I have trouble staying on top of it because once I get the tidying part done...I'm already exhausted. Not to mention the kids need me constantly. So this was a really nice treat to have someone get the house sparkly clean! The kids and I left and came back to a clean house. Best gift ever.
Ohhhh Leo. April seemed to be a hard month with him. I'm guessing it was teething? But who really knows. I was feeling the exhaustion of having him constantly whining at me and never letting me leave his sight. He loves to be held and as much as I love him, it does get tiring. I think he's getting really adorable though. His little smile with his 7 teeth (4 on top, 3 on bottom) is so cute!!
Lastly, I snuck in another date to Cora's with my Bentley girl. I see many dates with her in our future as well! She just loves the one on one time.
