February

February turned out to be a pretty good month, despite the awfully cold weather. Bentley and Deacon decided to go play outside one day when it was a little less than -20, because that was the warmest day in a while! They didn't last long. Let's just say most of our activities were indoor!

With February being the month of love, we kept busy with different things including making heart cookies with Grandma Nielson, a party at Laura's house where the kids made heart shaped pizzas and exchanged Valentines, Play School Valentines celebration, and Bentley's school Valentine party. The kids sure got spoiled!

On Valentines day, the kids helped me make heart shaped pancakes and we set up a little breakfast for Jeff with a lit up rose Bentley picked out at the store one day.

Jeff and I went on a date the following weekend to the restaurant in Fish Creek called Bow Valley Ranche Restaurant. It was SO good! I'm so glad Jeff and I share a love of fine dining and good, unique food. We always have so much fun eating out at new restaurants!

On the Family day long weekend, I made sure we packed it with lots of indoor fun so we didn't get bored! I took the kids to gymnastics and rock climbing on Friday. They had never done rock climbing and it actually turned out to be a lot of fun. Deacon is a natural climber and did great for his age! Bentley did good too, but of course is a lot more cautious than Deacon. We didn't use ropes, the place we went to just had a cushioned floor.

On Saturday we went swimming at the Southland Leisure Centre. We traded Leo for Scarlett (which was nice of Tamara to watch him for us!) and we had a blast! It was very busy, we even had to wait in line to get in the hot tub, but it was still very fun. On the Monday we took the kids to a new play place that opened up called Kidzgo. It's a huge place! There were a lot of things for the kids to do and they especially loved climbing up the big wall with the rope and then sliding down the slide. Deacon is amazing to watch...he's still so little, but such a good climber and very brave! Bentley has also become very brave and we really enjoyed watching them get along so well and just be the best of friends.

Bentley's hair is getting soooo long! We may need a trim soon.

Then there's Leo...he loves playing in the toilet so we are constantly closing bathroom doors or toilet lids. He's one of our craziest kids, he doesn't play with toys for long and seems to always be looking for trouble or someone to pick him up so he can see the world from up high! It will be very interesting to see how he turns out. He's sure cute though!

Deacon is almost done with naps so we are at that awkward stage where he can't quite stay awake all day, but won't go to bed at night if he has a nap. So, he will fall asleep in random places sometimes! Also, for play school one day the kids dressed up as astronauts and I just can't get over Deacon's poses. He is always making us laugh!
