Spring Activities

Well, I've passed the 6 week mark since my surgery and let me tell you, I didn't slow down for long. I think I had people come help me for 2 weeks, and then I was on my own. Besides being a little tired, I felt great even sooner than that so it really wasn't a bad recovery! And my kids loved having someone over every day...

I've been trying to fit in lots of fun activities this Spring because I love when the weather gets warm enough where we're not stuck inside. The day after my surgery Jeff and his family went to Thomas the Train. They took the kids and made sure to take pictures and send them to me while I was laying in bed recovering. It looked like they had a blast, just as Bentley did last year too!

For May long weekend we went to the Ady's cabin on Echo Lake for a work weekend (or as much work as we can get done with kids!). The boys ended up spending all day Saturday building a playset we decided to buy last minute. I watched the kids all day which was a lot of work, but it was worth it because it will be great for them to play in this summer! It was a beautiful weekend and we had lots of fun with family. Bentley especially loves being with Emri. Those two can play together so well, and they're pretty obsessed with being together. I love watching them and listening to their conversations! It's so nice to have Scott and Kellie living just down the street from us, and then in the summer spending even more time together at the cabin.

Our backyard has been a great place to play in! Deacon loves the water table and Bentley loves when we turn on the sprinkler, as well as her play house and little playground with a slide we got this year. Having that path behind our house is also nice to ride bikes on and go for walks.

Sometimes friends invite us to Splash Parks, which we also love! Picnics and playing with friends are our favorite things!

One day we decided to go find somewhere new to play just us! I looked up Splash Parks and found one that we didn't need a pass to, and it didn't even cost any money. It was at South Glenmore Park. It has a huge Splash Park, and a little baby pool type thing, and some regular parks around it too. It's beautiful over there! Even though they didn't have other friends, we actually had a blast there.

Sometimes we go to the zoo and eat ice cream...and sometimes we go to Fish Creek and eat ice cream at Annie's. One day it worked out that we actually went there twice, only with different crowds! Fish Creek is just so beautiful to walk around, and jump in puddles...

It's been a pretty fun-filled Spring and Summer has only just begun! Did I mention I love warm weather?
