Valentine's / Easter

For Valentine's day I did a little photo shoot of Bentley and here's how it turned out...

She's a pretty cute little Valentine! Although I do have another Valentine who surprised me with a yummy chocolate fondue. Not only buying the fruit and chocolate, but cutting it all up and getting it ready as well! I was quite impressed with Jeff this year.

We also just celebrated Easter. Bentley is still a little young for hunting eggs but we did go to the zoo where they had lots of Easter activities. They had crafts, free chocolate, cookie making, and lots of games like the big blow up balls you go in. Bentley and Lucy mostly enjoyed making a checkers tower. There was also a photo booth so we couldn't pass up the opportunity for a funny picture. It was super busy, but we had a great time. We also had a big dinner with my whole family at Jocelyn and Jeff's house. It's always a lot of fun to hang out with all of them!

Easter weekend was also general conference weekend so we watched as much of it as we could. It's a little hard to get much out of it with Bentley constantly wanting our attention, so we try to watch the majority of it when she's napping. I always look forward to hearing the words of the prophets though, it's one of my favorite things. I want to make it a tradition as Bentley grows up to eat a yummy breakfast as we sit down and enjoy listening to the prophets on Sunday. I can't wait to teach her more about Christ and how he rose again, and lives today. What a great holiday!

Bentley update...14 months!

I think it's about time I do an update on Bentley. She is getting so big I can't even believe it!
Bentley loves her dolls. It's amazing how little girls just seem to be born mothers. She loves hugging her dolls (along with other little kids!). It's pretty cute. We are also enjoying our big playroom full of toys.

Breakfast is Bentley's favorite meal of the day. She loves scrambled eggs, pancakes, waffles, cereal, toast, bagels, bananas, and yogourt. So I try to mix it up each morning. She can be pretty goofy when she's eating too and likes to try to feed me.

We make a pretty good team with our errands each week. I love looking at her smiling face through the car window when I fill up on gas. She usually giggles at me or sticks out her tongue. We also go shopping quite often, although there's a time limit for how long she will last so I have to be quick, especially when I'm getting groceries.

It's really nice to be a mom because it's almost like you automatically have friends! When I changed wards I met lots of people, we started a play group, and now we do things together all the time. Our excuse to hang out is our kids, but we all know it's really for us!

We love to go to the zoo and Bentley actually really enjoys looking at the animals.

Sometimes we go to the library. The Fish Creek Library has a big play area with lots of toys so that is a common place to meet up with people. Bentley likes to play with the Lego they have there...or just line them up!

Bentley still has two naps in the day, although I think she's getting close to switching to just one. When dinnertime comes close and I'm working in the kitchen, Bentley has her favorite cupboard where she pulls out these bowls. That and the tupperware cupboard can keep her entertained for a while.

Her favorite time of day is probably when Daddy comes home (my favorite time too!). She is always really excited to see him and leaps for his arms. There's no lie she is a "Daddy's Girl."

Bentley isn't the best at eating her vegetables or new foods, but at dinner time we always try to feed her what we are eating. For some reason she will try new foods from Dad, but not me. Doesn't make any sense! She doesn't eat any vegetables on their own really though, so we are working on that. She is pretty cute though in her high chair sometimes! She can be very goofy.

In the evening we sometimes go swimming or hot-tubing. For some reason Bentley is always really scared. She loves her baths but when we go in a hot tub or pool she becomes very nervous. So we're working on that still!

Well my girl is growing up but still hasn't accomplished the whole walking thing! It'll be pretty exciting when she reaches that milestone. It's been fun to see her personality develop. She is a spunky, goofy little thing and we just adore her.
