Christmas 2013

What a great time we had this Christmas! To start it off, we celebrated with my side of the family on Christmas Eve. We ate a delicious meal of ham and twice baked potatoes and then had a pretty sweet program, as usual. Each family contributed a talent and, boy, do I sure come from a talented family! (haha). My dad pulled out the magic tricks as he usually does, this year involving fire in his wallet as he "burned through cash." He also played a masterpiece on the Okarina. The kids performed songs, skits, jokes, and Jeff told a Christmas chicken story for us. Then we always finish the night with reading and acting out the nativity. We had a great time socializing with everyone and then exchanging gifts with the siblings and my parents afterward. We didn't see my family on Christmas day at all so we kind of did an early Christmas the night before. Kind of fun to split it up into two!

On Chrismas day Jeff and I ate a small breakfast at our place and did Chrismas on our own before venturing over to the Ady's. We exchanged our gifts with each other and it was so much fun! I had asked for new boots and Jeff picked them out on his own. I was amazed at his good taste! We then headed over to the Ady's to spend the day with them. We opened up more presents and got so spoiled! Brent bought some nerf guns and I took some pictures. We then ate a big breakfast, played games and chilled for the day, and then made the turkey dinner. So delicious! We had a great time with all of Jeff's brothers there.

Then boxing day came and we spent the day with my parents and the Mosher's playing games and having a good time. Then we had dinner #3 at the Ady's, as they had extended family over now. I have to say both me and Jeff were super exhausted by this point but still had a lot of fun! There was also a White Elephant gift exchange. Today being the day after boxing day was a great day to organize ourselves, return some things at the mall and relax :). We both felt like we were on the verge of getting sick, but never did get there so we were pretty lucky! What a great Christmas!!

Now for one more Prego picture because we can't forget our baby. I'm sure feeling huge now!! 3 and a half weeks left...

Life moves fast!

This time of year is always great because it is filled with my birthday, me and Jeff's anniversary, and then Christmas! This year we add another exciting event which will be our baby!! One month left!

For my birthday this year I got very spoiled. Jeff spoiled me with jewellery (which for some reason he LOVES to buy me), my parents gave me some things and even my in-laws Don and Cindy had a gift for me. Not to mention my friends and the ward who sang to me in primary and gave me treats =). I wanted to hang out with my close friends this year for my birthday so I invited some couples over for food and games and had such a blast! We pigged out and then laughed all night long playing Things in a Box.

My best buds minus Alicia and Denver

We had lots of plans for our anniversary but boy does life ever get busy! We were very sidetracked with looking for a house (of which I'll blog about later), so we didn't end up doing a whole lot. We did manage to celebrate a few days later, though, by going to The Keg for a great meal. We made each other presents this year and I love my nerdy husband for giving me a "Massage Bond." Yup...financial terms of course, but basically coupons for massages! With me being pregnant, he's been amazing at giving me massages anyways, but whenever I use a coupon it means I get an even better massage with 2 hands! Haha.

We can't wait for Christmas to come in 2 days! Gifts are wrapped and we are so excited to celebrate our second Christmas together. I went to the Keg for a Staff Christmas Party on Friday and here are a couple pics from that night. I will miss my staff so much while I go on maternity leave! I've been working here for 3 years and now have just 1 week left...so crazy! But I can't wait to move on to better things and take care a cuddly baby girl =).

One month left...the countdown is on! I'm starting to get more uncomfortable and really can't wait to fit into my old clothes again. But most of all I'm so excited to see our baby that I've been feeling moving around in my belly so much!

Our "Babymoon"

Well life is moving along and I keep forgetting to document it! The last few months have flown by and I am now less than 3 months away from my due date. I've been feeling great lately and am wondering how long this easy part will last until I start feeling uncomfortable. The only hard part right now is finding outfits that I look half decent in! Apparently I'm growing at the proper pace, though, and everything's normal with my pregnancy so far. The baby's been moving A LOT and it is just the coolest feeling ever! It took Jeff a while to feel the baby's kicks because every time he would put his hand on my belly the baby would stop kicking. But now most evenings I feel her kicking me like crazy so Jeff's felt some pretty strong ones as well! Here's a few belly pics including one of me and Sarah pregnant together! How could we not get a pic of us? I think it's pretty fun that we are best friends and our babies will be 2 months apart!

So earlier this month Jeff and I went on a little trip to Arizona. It was actually a business trip for Jeff which I got to tag along on, but we decided to extend it a couple of days so we could have more relaxing time, and we called it our "babymoon." The hotel was gorgeous and so was the weather, so I had lots of time to relax by the pool! Jeff went golfing one morning, I did some shopping, and we both got fed very well. We stayed in Scottsdale, but took a trip to Sedona to see the red rock which was absolutely gorgeous! I had a great time and met lots of people, but my favorite part was being with Jeff and forgetting about work and other things for a little while.

Apparently I've become a true "Ady" because I neglected taking pictures until the very last day before we left! But here's one of the four pools at the resort.

We rented this lovely car and this is Jeff on our run to a grocery store to get me an apple I was craving! We found a store called "Bashas." It worked!

Sedona was gorgeous so we were happy we took the 2-hour drive to see it. We walked around, bought some ice cream, and enjoyed the beauty!
We had a wonderful trip and savored every minute of it since this will probably be the last one for a while!

It's a GIRL!

Today I am exactly halfway through my pregnancy! Can't believe I've made it this far. I had my ultrasound recently to discover that Jeff and I are having a...GIRL! I am just thrilled!! Jeff may not be quite as thrilled...he wanted his boy of course, but still very excited. It's such a neat thing to see our baby, and we just can't wait for her to come out! Right after I told my mom I was having a girl she was just as excited as I was and insisted on buying my baby her first outfits. So adorable I must say!! Then Cindy gave me my next outfit! It's beginning to feel a little bit real.
I've been feeling super good lately, it's been a breeze. My belly is growing and right now our baby is the size of a banana! (Somewhat). I thought it might be fun to jot down some of my cravings and aversions because I've had some interesting ones. Right now I'm obsessed with oranges, although I hate peeling them. I had a thing for a while with chips and salsa, celery, strawberries, peaches, caramel apple pops and hot pockets. I have not been able to touch anything minty. I force myself to still brush my teeth twice a day but sometimes I'll start gagging. I usually have a piece of mint gum in my mouth at all times, but haven't touched any since being pregnant. Jeff says we're saving money on gum!
Anyways, here are a few pics from the ultrasound and some of my belly.

Ashley Lake/Echo Lake

Summer has been fun this year and we had a chance to take some holiday time to go to our cabins. Of course we have 2 cabins to choose from...such a problem! Jeff's parents have one on Echo Lake, while mine have a place on Ashley Lake. So we split up our time and spent half a week at each.

Ashley Lake was such a blast! We got to be there at the same time as Dave and Michelle and their daughters, Yasmin and Lauren, my second cousins! They are from England and have visited Canada about 8 years ago. Jordan and Melanie were also there with their kids. It was so much fun to spend time with them and we got to teach Yasmin and Lauren how to ski and wakeboard, and did many tube rides. Because I'm pregnant, I decided to play it safe and not participate much behind the boat this year. Very lame I know! But I still had the best time ever, and was so happy to have a break from working, which has been taking all my energy. I did get to try the paddle board though, which was super fun. You can really move on those boards! We played lots of games of Mexican horseshoes, ate great food, watched movies, and roasted marshmallows by the fire. My mom had bought these massive colored marshmallows which were interesting to roast. We also went to a play in Big Fork called "Legally Blonde." This is one of my all time favorite movies and the play was pretty much identical so I loved it and we all thought it was pretty funny. It was a great time and we had the best weather I've ever had at the lake...not a drop of rain and usually around 90 degrees!

We had a great time at Echo Lake as well! Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures, but we did have a photographer come to take some family pictures. Jeff's whole family happened to be there at one time so Kellie had the great idea of having a big family photo done. We did some boating as well, although there aren't as many people to do much behind the boat so we did more swimming and relaxing. We played a lot of rook and dominoes and had delicious meals. I also got a lot of reading done which was great!

We wish we had a longer holiday...1 week just isn't enough! But Jeff does have another week of vacation time for the year so we will plan on doing something else in a couple of months. Other than our cabins, we've been having a good summer playing with our friends, but mostly relaxing since I've been SO tired. Just now I'm starting to get my energy back which feels great! Before I end this post, we just wanted to thank Don and Cindy, and Rick and Ann for the great holiday!! =)
